Aubusson
Approx 6km from Ourdeaux is Aubusson, an historic town famous for its tapestries. Museums and outlets dedicated to this ancient art can be found in the quaint streets of this handsome old town, which sits on the banks of the river Creuse.
Lac de Vassiviere
A short drive away lies the impressive Lac de Vassiviere, the longest lake in the Limousin. It boasts six beaches and three marinas, and offers a variety of water-sports and some of the finest fishing in Europe.
Les Loups de Chabrieres This wildlife park set in the Chabrieres forest close to Gueret, is home to the wolves. This park will let you observe the behaviour of this fascinating predator.
Labyrinthe Geant
A ten minute drive from Les Loups de Chabrieres set in the forest is the Giant Labyrinth. This is a fun day out for all the family, with lots of games and activities included. Tobaganning, boules and giant chess .
Parc d’Arbre en Arbre Situated in the forest close to Lac Vassiviere, D’Arbre en Arbre is an outward bound activity/ adventure centre for children and adults from age 4 onwards. This park is an original way to discover the forest environment , with between 25-100 ariel obstacles. The park has numerous courses to suit everyones ability, with climbing equipment that meets strict safety regulations. A fantastic day out for all the family.
Vulcania
Set in the Avernge Volcanic Park, 15 kms from Clermont Ferrand. Vulcania will take you on a spectacular adventure to the centre of the earth, with a wide range of features including 3D filmson a giant screen, an earthquake stimulator & interactive terminals that let you experience the power of nature.
Golf With 9 Golf courses in The Limousin your holiday could be a golfers heaven, playing all 9 courses. Alternatively if you wish to include a round of golf in your holiday there are many courses to choose from.
Fishing
The Creuse has 4000 kilometres of rivers and brooks and 3000 hectares of lakes. Clearly this is a fishermen’s paradise! The Tourist Board publishes a special fishing guide book and they even have a fishing (or should we say fisherman’s) consultant and school. You can practise fishing in still and running waters. Trout, char, fountain salmon, grayling, pike, zander, black bass and crayfish abound .

Perusing the various beds, chairs, tables, objets d'art, lights, records, books and sundry odds and ends is a gentle way to spend the afternoon and may even turn up a gem or two.
Saint Loup Fair
May 2007
This lively fair takes over the centre of Limoges for a day in May in a tradition dating back four centuries. It is always held close to Saint Loup's feast day (20 May).
The streets are lined with stallholders, who sell delicious Limousin specialities like sausages and pâté as well as wine and clothes.
The fair dates back to 1566, when the town was granted a market licence by Charles IX.
Urbaka Street Festival
June - July 2007
The Urbaka is an international festival of street arts in Limoges. For four days, over 10,000 spectators enjoy shows in the town's squares and streets. The festival is presented by the Christi Urbaka association, an international research centre for image theatre.
Festival of Francophony

This festival, held at a variety of venues in Limoges, is dedicated to the beauties and intricacies of the French language, presenting theatrical productions, literary workshops, round table discussions, poetry workshops and music. If you're a French speaker, student, or perhaps teacher, you will find many like minds here.
Frairie des Petits Ventres

Each stall sells a different speciality, including delicious tripe products (such as fraises du veau), boudin blanc or noir sausages and foie gras.
Halloween in Limoges
Every year
Lots of people dress up (even if they're not in the parade) and tour the many bars, cafes and restaurants, which hold special Halloween parties.
